YouthBuild Bogalusa  is an educational program for youth ages 16-24 that have not completed high school.  YouthBuild Bogalusa  offers opportunities in GED, Carpentry and Life Skills.

Entrance Requirements:

  1. Student must be at least 16-24 years of age and a Washington Parish resident
  2. Student must take the TABE exam and score at least a 8.0 in Reading and a 6.0 in Math and Language
  3. Student must be Drug Free to remain in the YBB program
  4. Student must obtain a formal withdrawal slip and other pertinent information from the last school attended
Components of YouthBuild Bogalusa

GED: This educational component creates opportunities for measurable achievement in General Equivalency Diploma (GED).   This educational process aims to make young people more employable and to foster a life-long appreciation for learning.

Carpentry: This component teaches students basic safety skills and provides an introduction to Carpentry. Through this opportunity students are able to gain National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and Carpentry Assistant certification. This training offers a “hands- on” learning approach.

Life Skills:  This component of the program equips students with the necessities they need to become young productive adults in today’s society.  Topics include but are not limited to: Money Management, Career Planning, Substance Abuse Prevention, Hygiene, Community Involvement and Leadership Development.

Individual and Group Counseling is available on-site
