NTCC Student Named to All Louisiana Academic Team

(Bogalusa, LA) - The Louisiana State Museum in Baton Rouge was the setting where LaJonna Bush, Practical Nursing student, was named to the Phi Theta Kappa All Louisiana Academic Team at a ceremony held on Wednesday, April 10th, 2013. LaJonna was one of twenty community college students from throughout the state honored Wednesday as she was joined by her mother Gwendolyn Bush and her advisor Michele Lyons, Dean of Health Sciences for NTCC. Phi Theta Kappa is an academic honors society that recognizes and encourages academic achievement, growth and development in leadership and service. LaJonna is a true example of a leader and service oriented citizen who will make a lasting impact on society as she advances her nursing career.” William S. Wainwright, Chancellor

LaJonna Bush, daughter of John and Gwendolyn Bush of Lumberton, MS currently maintains a 3.6 grade point average at Northshore Technical Community College. Upon completion of her studies, she plans to transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to pursue a Master’s Degree in Nursing. She is the Youth Director of Zion Hill Baptist Church and a member of the “More Than a Conqueror” non-profit organization. She is also a member of Who’s Who Among American High School students and graduated high school with high honors.
