Bogalusa, LA – The Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce the establishment of a new $20,000 scholarship endowment to support students pursuing construction-related programs at NTCC’s Sullivan Campus in Bogalusa. This opportunity has been made possible through a $10,000 donation from the Sullivan Vocational Foundation, matched by an additional $10,000 from the Louisiana Community and Technical College System Foundation’s contribution from Construction Education Trust Fund.
This endowment reflects a continued commitment to fostering educational and workforce opportunities in Louisiana’s construction trades. The Sullivan Vocational Foundation has a long-standing history of supporting NTCC students. Since 2016, the foundation has contributed significantly to scholarships, including the establishment of the Sullivan Vocational Foundation Endowed Scholarship Fund in Health Sciences. In 2023, the foundation donated $100,000 to support scholarships in Registered Nursing and Construction Trades, which was matched by the Louisiana Board of Regents.
"We are deeply grateful to the Sullivan Vocational Foundation and the Construction Education Trust Fund for their continued investment in our students and their futures," said NTCC Chancellor Dr. Jim Carlson. "This new endowment strengthens our ability to prepare students for successful careers in the high-demand construction industry while addressing workforce needs in our region."
The $20,000 endowment will provide critical financial support to students enrolled in construction-related programs at the Sullivan Campus, enabling them to gain the skills and education necessary for success in this growing field.
