Lacombe, LA.— The family and friends of Harold Vesper, Jr., have established an endowed scholarship in his memory that will support students who are enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at Northshore Technical Community College.
“Harold Vesper was a US Army Veteran and an ASE Master Certified Automotive Technician who enjoyed a second career as an instructor at our college,” said NTCC Chancellor Jim Carlson. “Under his leadership, his students secured numerous medals at SkillsUSA competitions and achieved 100% job placement after graduation. He was beloved by his students, and this endowed scholarship in his name is a fitting tribute to his memory.”
Vesper passed away in 2022. His family and friends created this memorial scholarship to encourage young people to enroll in community college programs, where hands-on applications are combined with modern computing and technology to build pathways to high-demand careers for skilled workers. The scholarship will be available to students enrolled in the Automotive Technology Program at NTCC’s Hammond Area Campus.
