Lacombe, LA – Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) proudly celebrates Charrielle Ginn, a determined graduate of the Medical Assistant Technical Program, whose journey to success showcases resilience, perseverance, and a commitment to helping others.
Charrielle’s story began in 2020, when she first enrolled in NTCC’s Medical Assistant Program. As a young mother who had given birth during her senior year of high school, she faced the challenge of balancing school, work, and motherhood. Despite struggling with her first semester, Charrielle’s determination did not falter. “My first year of school was difficult. I was trying to juggle being a new mom, working, and attending school, but I didn’t give up,” Charrielle shared.
With renewed focus, Charrielle returned to NTCC in Fall 2021, successfully completing the program by Spring 2022. However, she faced another challenge: passing the NHA Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam. After not passing on her first attempt, Charrielle remained determined to pursue her dream of becoming a CCMA.
Her externship site, impressed by her work ethic and caring personality, offered her a job, keeping her in the healthcare field. Though it wasn’t the CCMA position she had hoped for, Charrielle continued to work diligently, gaining valuable experience.
Pam Braden, Charrielle’s instructor, continued to support her, encouraging her to reattempt the certification exam. In Summer 2024, an opportunity arose to retake the exam through NTCC’s three-week NHA Prep Bootcamp, designed specifically for individuals who had not passed the CCMA exam. Charrielle jumped at the chance and poured herself into her studies. Mrs. Braden recalled that, “Charrielle had found her determination again and worked harder than ever she was the first student in class every morning and one of the last to leave every day.”
Charrielle passed the certification exam with flying colors and is now working as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), loving her career and the opportunity to help others. But her journey doesn’t stop there. When asked what’s next for her, she confidently told Mrs. Braden, “I’m going to be a nurse.” Charrielle’s perseverance and success are a testament to the support and opportunities offered at NTCC. Her story serves as an inspiration to current and future students, proving that hard work, determination, and the right support system can help anyone overcome obstacles and achieve their goals.
