Northshore Technical Community College Celebrates the Graduating Class of 2025

LACOMBE, LA — Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) proudly celebrated the achievements of its Class of 2025 during its annual commencement ceremony held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025. This year, 788 students earned diplomas and degrees, marking a significant milestone in their educational journeys.

Of those graduates, 145 students completed NTCC’s Adult Education program by earning their high school equivalency diplomas. The remaining 643 graduates represented a wide range of academic and technical programs, including associate degrees and technical diplomas — all reflecting NTCC’s mission to prepare students for success in college, career, and beyond.

The ceremony was held in front of a packed audience of students, families, faculty, and community members from across Southeast Louisiana. NTCC was honored to welcome State Representative Kim Carver as the 2025 Commencement Speaker.

“This ceremony, this milestone, this evening, marks both an ending and a beginning, a moment of reflection and a launchpad into something new,” Representative Carver told the graduates. He encouraged them to remain grounded in their values and purpose, quoting author Bob Goff: “I used to be afraid of failing at the things that really mattered to me, but now I'm afraid of succeeding at things that don't really matter.”

NTCC also recognized several outstanding individuals during the ceremony:

  • Kasia Trepagnier was honored with the Young Alumni Award for her accomplishments as an award-winning actress, model, and producer, inspiring students through her achievements and community involvement.
  • Shea Edwards received the Distinguished Alumni Award for her lasting impact and contributions to workforce development and higher education.
  • Jessicar Cardell Brown, Kristie Tin-Huei Chen, Robert Frederick Hennessey, Jr., Darius V. Sellers, and Gavin August Ray were each presented with Chancellor’s Awards for earning a 4.0 GPA in their respective associate degree programs — exemplifying academic excellence and leadership.

“NTCC's graduating Class of 2025 embodies the spirit of perseverance and purpose,” said Dr. Jim Carlson, Chancellor of NTCC. “Our students have stepped up to the challenges and stayed the course in pursuit of their goals. On behalf of the faculty and staff, we celebrate their achievements and look forward to seeing what they accomplish in the future.”

Whether continuing their education or launching new careers, NTCC’s graduates are entering the next chapter with confidence, skill, and resilience. Their success reflects NTCC’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality, affordable, and accessible education throughout the region.
