NTCC Nursing Program Achieves 94.4% NCLEX Pass Rate, Secures Full LSBN Approval and ACEN Accreditation

Lacombe, LA—Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce a major achievement for its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN-RN) program: the inaugural graduating class has earned an outstanding 94.4% pass rate on the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX), the final step toward becoming a registered nurse.

This exceptional performance has resulted in full approval from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing and approval for Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accreditation Candidacy Status—solidifying NTCC’s ASN-RN program as a premier pathway for nursing education on the Northshore.

“These results speak volumes about the quality of our program and the dedication of our students and faculty,” said Dr. Jim Carlson, Chancellor of NTCC. “Achieving full approval and accreditation in our first graduating class is a rare and remarkable accomplishment.”

The NCLEX pass rate is a key benchmark for nursing programs nationwide, and NTCC’s results place it among the top-performing programs in the state. The success reflects the program’s rigorous academic standards, hands-on clinical training, and strong community partnerships.

Christi Marceaux, Dean of Health Sciences and Nursing, emphasized the significance of the milestone: “This isn’t just a win for NTCC—it’s a win for our entire region. These 18 graduates have proven that we can grow our own nursing workforce right here at home and do so with excellence.”

The college celebrated the graduates during its first-ever ASN-RN Pinning Ceremony on May 14, 2025, at the Fleur de Lis Event Center in Mandeville. The event honored the pioneering class and their contributions to healthcare in southeast Louisiana.

NTCC continues to expand its health sciences offerings, recently receiving approval for a new Patient Navigator program and securing a H.E.R.O. Grant of nearly $500,000 to launch a Surgical Technology program. The hope is to launch the highly anticipated Licensed Practical Nurse to Registered Nurse (LPN-to-RN) Bridge Program Spring 2026.

As NTCC looks ahead, the college remains committed to addressing Louisiana’s healthcare workforce needs with innovative, high-quality training programs. The success of the inaugural ASN-RN class sets a strong foundation for future cohorts and reinforces NTCC’s role as a leader in nursing education.
