HAMMOND, La. (September 18, 2025) — Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) Career Services hosted its second annual Information Technology (IT) Career Fair on Thursday, September 18, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Hammond Area Campus (111 Pride Dr., Hammond, LA 70401).
A total of 88 job seekers—including NTCC students and alumni from IT programs at the Lacombe, Hammond, Livingston, and Sullivan campuses—participated, along with students and alumni from related fields such as Advanced Manufacturing, HVAC, and Welding. Fourteen employers seeking IT talent attended:
A-B Computer Solutions, AFX Pro, Ampirical, BridgeNet Technology Consultants, City of New Orleans, CMIT Solutions, Elmer Candy, Entergy, Globalstar Inc., In-Telecom, Laitram, J&M Displays, North Oaks Hospital, Tru Connect.
“Exposing students to their prospective industry as early as possible helps them build confidence interacting with employers and entering the workforce,” said Tiffany Fowler, Director of Career Services. “We also design these fairs to support our business and industry partners with their staffing needs, and we consistently hear that NTCC produces strong graduates.”
Fowler highlighted Andrew Adam as a recent success story. After meeting BridgeNet Technology Consultants at NTCC’s Nov. 7, 2024 IT Career Fair, Adam was interviewed by CEO Bo Jakins and brought on as an intern. Within three months, he advanced to a full-time role as a Computer Programmer providing coding and IT support—and is now contributing to the company’s AI initiative.
