LACOMBE, LA – Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) has reached a historic milestone, enrolling a record 6,401 students for the Fall 2025 semester, marking the largest student body in the college’s history.
The growth is driven by increased interest in new high-demand programs such as Advanced Manufacturing, Electric Line Technology, and the Associate of Science in Nursing – Registered Nurse (ASN-RN) track. These programs equip students with the skills needed to fill critical workforce gaps across the Northshore Region.
“Reaching this enrollment milestone is a testament to the hard work of our faculty, staff, and leadership team, as well as the trust our students place in NTCC to prepare them for the workforce and beyond,” said Chancellor Jim Carlson. “Our continued growth underscores the critical need for expanded facilities, including the impending new Hammond Area Campus, which will be built on a 15-acre tract of land generously donated by North Oaks Health Systems, as well as the new Diesel Technology Building in Bogalusa. However, additional space in Livingston and St. Tammany parishes will be needed in the future to properly serve the communities of the Northshore. These new and expanded facilities will allow us to prepare more students, provide state-of-the-art training environments, and strengthen our ability to meet the workforce needs of our region. Expanded facilities don’t just add capacity—they enhance the student experience, improve hands-on training opportunities, and directly benefit the local economy by attracting new economic growth and preparing skilled graduates ready to enter high-demand careers.”
NTCC serves residents across St. Tammany, Washington, Tangipahoa, St. Helena, and Livingston parishes, providing accessible, quality education and workforce development opportunities. The college’s strategic investment in programs, technology, and facilities reflects a long-term commitment to the region’s economic growth and student success.
“Every student at NTCC represents our mission in action: preparing skilled, career-ready individuals who will contribute to their communities and industries,” Carlson added. “With our expanded programs and facilities, we can continue to provide pathways to meaningful careers while helping local businesses and industries thrive.”
