Hammond, LA — Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) proudly announces that Ariel German, a dedicated and accomplished student leader, has been selected as a 2025 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship recipient. This prestigious award recognizes outstanding Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members for their academic excellence, leadership potential, and commitment to community service.
Ariel German is a non-traditional student pursuing an Associate of General Studies degree with a concentration in Criminal Justice. Ariel serves as a chapter leader of NTCC’s PTK chapter, Beta Phi Zeta, and holds the role of Louisiana at Large Representative for the Mississippi/Louisiana region of Phi Theta Kappa. Upon graduating from NTCC in Spring 2026, she plans to transfer to Southeastern Louisiana University to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice/Political Science.
“NTCC has been pivotal in helping me accomplish my goals and gain opportunities I never imagined were possible,” said German. “Through my experiences at NTCC and in PTK, my academic career has evolved into something much more than just simply earning a college degree. It has transformed into a journey of rediscovering who I am and what I am capable of achieving. Being selected as a Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholar has inspired me to pursue my goals with determination and continue reaching for the stars.”
The Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship Program supports PTK members by helping defray educational expenses while they are enrolled in associate degree programs. Scholars are selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, and leadership potential. This year, more than 600 applications were submitted nationwide.
German also recently attended the 2025 PTK Honors Institute held at Loyola University in Chicago, IL. Widely regarded as the crown jewel of PTK experiences, the Honors Institute offers a transformative deep-dive into learning and leadership. This year’s event marked the first in-person Honors Institute since the COVID-19 pandemic, making it a special occasion for students to reconnect and rediscover the power of ideas.
NTCC celebrates Ariel German’s achievements and looks forward to her continued success as she represents the college and the state of Louisiana on a national stage.
