Northshore Technical Community College Welcomes First Inductees into the National Adult Education Honor Society

Lacombe, LA — November 2025 — Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) proudly announces its membership in the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS), marking a significant milestone in the college’s commitment to recognizing and supporting adult learners across the Northshore region. Established in 1980, the National Adult Education Honor Society celebrates adult education students who demonstrate exemplary attendance, dedication, cooperation, and perseverance while working toward academic and career goals.

NTCC Chancellor Dr. Jim Carlson reflected on the milestone, stating, “Our inaugural Adult Education Honor Society inductees embody the power of perseverance and possibility. Their achievements remind us that it is never too late to rewrite your future. We are proud of them, and grateful to the Adult Education team, for lighting the path forward.”

To commemorate NTCC’s new membership, two induction ceremonies were hosted this month, collectively recognizing 33 outstanding students. The first ceremony was held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Main Campus in Lacombe, followed by a second ceremony on Monday, November 17, 2025, at the Hammond Area Campus. Honorees include: Wisteria Adair, Kloie Bennet, Antonetta Brown, Aubrie Campise, Rebecca Carter, Quenton Chatman, Haydin Coyle, Ty Crowninshield, Ezekiel Danos, Irma DeSilva, Blake Evans, Kendell Freeman, Patrice Howard, Precious Jackson, Tyeshia Johnson, Rosemary LeBlanc, Braydin LeBlanc, Jader Lopez, Jesse Martin, Julia Michelli, Colby Munsterman, Jayden Nelson, Kross Porretto, Breelynn Ray, Shelly Richard, Lyza Robinson, Sarah Ann Sanders, Destiny Scott, Mikayla Stewart, Jacob Stogner, Jourdan Thomas, Madelyn Webb, Jamyson Williams

Errick L. Baldwin, M.A., Director of WorkReadyU–Adult Education, noted the significance of the moment: “We are proud to celebrate the induction of 33 students into the National Adult Education Honor Society. This honor showcases the resilience of adult learners and the long-term impact of adult education on families, careers, and communities. This inaugural NAEHS induction highlights our commitment to student success, honoring and supporting the transformative achievements that strengthen our college and the Northshore region.”

These inductees were selected by their instructors based on excellence in attendance, work ethic, and positive attitude — attributes that reflect not only academic promise, but the determination required to pursue educational goals as adults balancing work, family, and life responsibilities.

Bridget LaBorde, M.A., CWD, Executive Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education, applauded the inductees, sharing, “They were each selected because they excelled in attendance, work ethic, and their cooperative attitude. This will sustain them as they work to earn their high school equivalency diploma and step into a bright future. We are honored to be part of their journey.”

Membership in the National Adult Education Honor Society connects NTCC students to continued support, including scholarships, education pathways, and employment networking — expanding opportunity well beyond the recognition ceremony.
