Lacombe, LA — Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce that the Louisiana State Board of Nursing (LSBN) unanimously approved the College’s new Practical Nurse (PN) to Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) Bridge Program during its board meeting yesterday.
This major milestone positions NTCC to admit its first PN-to-ASN Bridge cohort in Summer 2026, expanding access to Registered Nursing education and strengthening the healthcare workforce pipeline across the Northshore region. “NTCC is proud to receive unanimous approval from the Louisiana State Board of Nursing for our PN-to-ASN Bridge Program—an important step in expanding nursing education and strengthening the healthcare workforce across the Northshore,” said Dr. Jim Carlson, Chancellor. “We look forward to welcoming our first cohort in Summer 2026.”
The PN-to-ASN Bridge Program builds on NTCC’s long-standing success in Practical Nursing education and the strong launch of the ASN program, providing licensed practical nurses with a streamlined, supportive pathway to advance their careers as registered nurses. “Building on NTCC’s long-standing success in Practical Nursing education and the strong launch of our ASN program, the PN-to-ASN Bridge is a natural next step,” said Christi C. Marceaux, MSN, RN, Dean of Health Sciences & Nursing. “This program creates a clear, supported pathway for licensed practical nurses across the Northshore to advance their education and continue serving their communities as registered nurses.”

The unanimous approval from LSBN reflects a tremendous amount of work, collaboration, and dedication from NTCC’s Nursing faculty, Academic Affairs, Workforce, and Institutional Effectiveness teams.
