BOGALUSA, LA — The Northshore College Enhancement Foundation is proud to announce the awarding of scholarships to seven exceptional students from Northshore Technical Community College’s Sullivan Campus in Bogalusa.  The scholarships were made possible through the generosity of the Sullivan Vocational Foundation. The recipients were honored during a formal recognition ceremony held on November 20, 2025, at the NTCC campus, marking a significant milestone in their educational and professional journeys.

The event brought together the Sullivan Vocational Foundation’s Board of Directors and the NTCC Administration to celebrate the hard work and dedication of the scholars. In a room filled with family members and the recipients’ instructors, each student was presented with an official certificate of achievement.

The scholarship recipients were selected through a rigorous process based on three primary criteria: maintaining a high grade point average, demonstrating a focused vision for their future in the workforce, and personal achievement, including resilience, leadership, and a commitment to their chosen trade or technical field.

The scholarships were presented to Chantaisa Adams (Practical Nursing), Alexus Hickman (Practical Nursing), Courtney Matthews (Practical Nursing), and Savanna Sanchez (Practical Nursing); Willasia Pam (Care and Development of Young Children), Ja’Quan Brumfield (Electrician), and Joshua Whitaker (Electric Line Technician).

“We are incredibly proud to support these seven individuals as they prepare to enter the workforce,” said Michelle Goode, Sullivan Vocational Foundation Board Chair. “Their commitment to mastering their crafts and their drive to succeed embody the very mission of our foundation. Investing in these students is an investment in the future of our local economy.”

The presence of family and instructors underscored the community support system required for student success. NTCC leadership emphasized that partnerships with organizations like the Sullivan Vocational Foundation are vital to making higher education accessible and rewarding.

“These scholarships do more than just ease a financial burden; they celebrate our students’ hard work,” said the NTCC Chancellor. “Seeing our students recognized by the Sullivan Vocational Foundation is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved through perseverance and partnership.”

The Sullivan Vocational Foundation remains committed to fostering the next generation of skilled professionals by removing financial barriers to technical training and vocational education.
