Spring 2020 Term - Academic Calendars

Academic calendars for the Spring 2020 Term are available below. Two main semesters exist within the Spring 2020 Term, the Full Semester and the Second Start Semester. The Technical Block Schedule is provided for courses with varying course dates but are considered part of the Full Semester.

Spring 2020 - Full Semester

October 21 - 22:

  • Priority registration period for veterans and active duty military.

October 23 - January 21:

  • Open registration period.

January 13:

  • Faculty report to campuses.

January 20:

  • Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday; NTCC campuses closed.

January 22: 

  • First day of Full Semester classes.

January 22 - 27:

  • Add/Drop Course Period
    • Considered as late registration first time registrants during this period. 

February 10:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

February 11 - April 3:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

February 24:

  • Lundi Gras Student Holiday; NTCC campuses open

February 25:

  • Mardi Gras Holiday; NTCC campuses closed

March 13:

  • Last day to remove incomplete ("I") grades from prior semester
  • Mid-semester grades due (3:00pm)
  • Spring graduation application deadline

March 16 - 20*:

Spring Break Holiday - No Classes (*NTCC campuses open March 17-20)

March 23 - 24*:

Faculty Development Days - No classes; (NTCC campuses open; *select clinical courses may begin March 24th)

April 6 - April 9:

  • Advising Week

April 10:

  • Easter Holiday; NTCC campuses closed

May 8:

  • Final day of instruction for courses with a final examination
  • Last day to withdraw from classes (adjusted deadline)

May 11:

  • Graduating students grade deadline

May 11 - 15:

  • Final examination week

May 15:

  • Final day of instruction for courses without a final examination

May 18:

  • Final grades due (9:00am)
  • Degree audit forms due (9:00am)

Spring 2020 - Technical Block Schedule

  • Full Semester calendar dates apply to all Technical Block parts of terms and courses when alternate dates are not provided on specific calendars.

First 8 Weeks (Part of Term: L02)

January 22:

  • First day of class

January 30:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

January 31 - February 21:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

February 21:

  • Last day to withdraw

March 13:

  • Final day of instruction

Second 8 Weeks (Part of Term: L03)

March 16:

  • First day of class

March 24:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

March 25 - April 24:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

May 8:

  • Last day to withdraw (adjusted deadline)

May 15:

  • Final day of instruction

February 17:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

February 28 - March 5:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

March 5:

  • Last day to withdraw

March 13:

  • Final day of instruction

Third 4 Weeks (Part of Term: L06)

March 16:

  • First day of class

March 24:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

March 25 - April 2:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

April 9:

  • Final day of instruction

April 2:

  • Last day to withdraw (adjusted deadline)

Fourth 4 Weeks (Part of Term: L07)

April 20:

  • First day of class

April 28:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

April 29 - May 7:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

May 8:

  • Last day to withdraw (adjusted deadline)

May 15:

  • Final day of instruction

Second 12 Weeks (Part of Term: L08)

February 17:

  • First day of class

February 27:

  • Last day to drop a course without a "W" grade.

February 28 - April 9:

  • Withdrawal Period: Course drops during this period are considered a "withdrawal" and are documented on the student record as a "W" grade.

May 8:

  • Last day to withdraw (adjusted deadline)
