Northshore Technical Community College Celebrates 116 National Adult Education Honor Society Inductees

LACOMBE, La. – Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) proudly recognized the academic achievement, perseverance, and dedication of adult learners by inducting 116 students into the National Adult Education Honor Society (NAEHS) during ceremonies held throughout the academic year.

A total of 33 students were inducted during the Fall semester and 83 students during the Spring semester, representing learners from NTCC's five campuses and four satellite classroom locations across the region.

The National Adult Education Honor Society recognizes adult education students who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to their educational goals while balancing careers, family responsibilities, and other personal commitments. The honor reflects the resilience, determination, and dedication that define NTCC's Adult Education students and highlights the life-changing opportunities created through lifelong learning.

"These students have demonstrated remarkable perseverance and commitment to achieving their educational goals," said Dr. Jim Carlson, Chancellor of Northshore Technical Community College. "Many have overcome significant challenges while balancing work, family, and other responsibilities. Their induction into the National Adult Education Honor Society is a testament to their hard work and serves as an inspiration to others pursuing educational success."

Membership in the National Adult Education Honor Society is reserved for students who consistently demonstrate academic excellence, reliability, cooperation, and a strong work ethic. Eligible students maintain excellent attendance, actively participate in class, respect diverse perspectives, communicate effectively, collaborate with classmates and instructors, complete assignments, set academic goals, seek assistance when needed, and take responsibility for their educational progress.

Each inductee received a National Adult Education Honor Society pin and certificate recognizing their accomplishments. Students also received two letters of recommendation—one supporting employment opportunities and another supporting financial aid applications for continued collegiate studies—providing additional resources as they transition into higher education and the workforce.

NTCC's Adult Education program provides accessible and flexible educational opportunities for adult learners seeking High School Equivalency credentials, college readiness, and workforce preparation. Through instruction offered at five campuses and four satellite classroom locations, the program continues to serve students throughout the Northshore region.

The college also recognized the dedication of Adult Education Advisors Tammy Morris, Monica Haralson, and Tanya Jarvis, whose mentorship, guidance, and advocacy play a critical role in supporting student success across the program.

The induction ceremonies were attended by representatives from the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), including Erin Landry and Adrienne Fontenot, along with members of NTCC administration, who joined faculty, staff, families, and community supporters in celebrating the accomplishments of the inductees.

NTCC extends its congratulations to all 116 National Adult Education Honor Society inductees and applauds their dedication as they continue pursuing higher education, workforce training, and rewarding careers.
