College Level Examination Program (CLEP)
Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) is an approved testing center for the College Board’s College Level Examination Program (CLEP). CLEP allows students to earn college credit for knowledge they already possess by achieving qualifying scores on standardized exams. All CLEP exams at NTCC are administered on a computer-based testing platform (no paper-and-pencil option available).
Who Can Earn College Credit Through CLEP?

Testing Location
CLEP exams are offered only at the NTCC Lacombe Campus.
How to Register for a CLEP Exam
Step 1: Register with College Board
- Visit the College Board CLEP website to get started:
- Click Sign In (top right) if you already have an account
- If you do not have an account, click Sign Up
- Choose your exam
- Pay for the exam
- Print your CLEP Admission Ticket
Step 2: Schedule Your Exam at NTCC (RegisterBlast)
After you receive your College Board admission ticket:
- Visit the NTCC Lacombe Campus RegisterBlast page
- Select your exam
- Choose your date and time
- Pay the NTCC test center fee online
What You Need to Know
- CLEP exams are computer-based.
- Exam formats may include multiple-choice questions, optional essays, and listening sections (depending on the test).
- All exams are timed.
- Score reports are available immediately after testing—except for exams that include essays.
- Most CLEP exams require a score of 50 or higher to earn credit.
- Requests for accommodations must be submitted to Disability Services at least two weeks before testing.
What to Bring on Test Day
- A valid government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, passport, etc.)
- Your CLEP Admission Ticket from the College Board
- Your receipt for the NTCC test center fee
Please note: All testing fees are non-refundable.
After You Test
You will receive an immediate score report for all CLEP exams except those with essay components.
Testing Center Policies
The following personal items are not allowed in the testing room:
- Mobile phones
- Smart watches or electronic devices
- Handheld computers/PDAs
- Pagers
- Purses or bags
- Books or notes
- Firearms or weapons
- Hats or non-religious head coverings
All personal items must be stored in a secure area as instructed by Testing Center staff or returned to your vehicle. Students who refuse to store personal items will not be permitted to test.
The only required item on test day is your valid photo ID.
