NTCC TO HOST SUMMER STEM CAMP FOR MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS AT SULLIVAN CAMPUS

BOGALUSA, LA – Northshore Technical Community College (NTCC) is proud to announce its upcoming Future Makers Summer STEM Camp, a three-day enrichment initiative designed specifically for up to 50 middle school students in grades 6–8 in Washington Parish. Hosted at NTCC’s Sullivan Campus in Bogalusa, this immersive camp is designed to introduce students to high-demand technical fields and spark early career awareness. 


Scheduled for July 14–16, 2026 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. each day, the camp is funded in part by a partnership with the Drax Foundation and LCTCS. Thanks to this generous support, registration is entirely free for all youth participants, and snacks, drinks, and camp T-shirts will be provided. 

The hands-on, project-based curriculum will utilize the NTCC Gator Innovation Station and focus on cutting-edge technical disciplines: 

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Automation
  • Information Technology
  • Robotics

Core Goals and Outcomes:
The Future Makers initiative is driven by clear benchmarks to support the local community by expanding Access to STEM Learning and strengthen the Collegiate Pipeline, by provide participants with direct information regarding relevant academic programming and technical training paths available right at NTCC.

Due to lab capacity and material limits, pre-registration is strictly required; absolutely no walk-ups will be permitted. Parents and guardians are encouraged to secure their student's spot early.
