Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN-RN) Program Progression & Special Admissions Requirements
The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN-RN) is a competitive, limited enrollment program. Students must be admitted to Northshore Technical Community College prior to acceptance into the ASN-RN program. Next application period will be announced shortly, as we confirm what is allowable for LSBN and ACEN accreditation purposes.
- Tentative Fall 2025 Enrollment Timeline:
- Application period is scheduled to open March 1, 2025 through April 25, 2025
- Letters of initial acceptance will go out after May19, 2025
- Accepted Fall 2025 students will have a mandatory meeting May 29, 2025
- Tentative Spring 2026 Enrollment Timeline:
- Applications began July 15, 2025 and closed September 12, 2025
- Letters of initial acceptance will go out after September 18, 2025
- Accepted Spring 2026 students will have a mandatory meeting September 25, 2025
Admission to ASN-RN Program at Northshore Technical Community College
Applicants must be admitted to Northshore Technical Community College prior to being considered for the ASN-RN program. Admission to Northshore Technical Community College does not guarantee acceptance/enrollment into ASN-RN clinical nursing courses.
Selection for enrollment in nursing courses is on a competitive basis utilizing a ranking system for available spaces. Applicants must meet the minimum criteria to be considered for selection for enrollment in clinical nursing courses; meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee acceptance into the ASN-RN program.
Minimum Criteria:
- Admission to the NTCC
- Applicants must obtain a GPA of 2.8 or higher and a grade of “C” or better in all nursing and non-nursing courses
- Semester 1 courses must be completed or be actively enrolled in at time of application
- Note-students who have all Semester 1 courses completed will be given preference over students enrolled in any of the Semester 1 courses
- Any unsucessful grades ("Ds" or "Fs") from Semester 1 through 5 need to be retaken and passed with a "C" or better in order to be considered to enter the ASN-RN program
- Semester 1 courses must be completed or be actively enrolled in at time of application
- Test of Essential Academic Skills [TEAS Version 7] completion with a minimum score of 65%
- Application for Admission to RN-ASN Program
- An application to enroll in clinical courses is valid for one semester only. Eligible students must re-apply every semester
- All applications and supporting documents must be received prior to the posted deadline. No application to enroll in ASN clinical courses will be accepted after the deadline.
TEAS Testing at Northshore
TEAS Testing is offered at our Lacombe and Hammond campus.
